National Center for Rural Health Research Announced

OHNSON CITY, TN (WCYB) Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has announced the creation and funding for a new National Center for Rural Health Research at East Tennessee State University.

Gov. Lee spoke at ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine on Tuesday. He said one of the biggest challenges people face in rural Tennessee is healthcare.

“This center, I believe, will be a national leader in research,” said Gov. Lee. “Not just in serving and services. Not just access to care. But research the things that drive the components of rural health.”

Case Studies

I’m pleased because I don’t have to make a 4 ½-hour drive to get my infusion. It’s great that we can now have the therapy that I needed right here.

I’m very fortunate and so grateful for everything the center does for me. The wait is short and I’m in and out in no time. Without this local service, I couldn’t keep my job. I wouldn’t be able to take care of my family or enjoy my life.
